I’ve been writing about Baby A and his bouts of being sick. Well it turns out persistence has paid off. He went in for his 6 month check up yesterday to our regular doctor, Dr. B (he’s nearly impossible to get in on a per-case basis). He is 17 lbs and 26 1/2″ long now, which they said is very good, he’s on track for his gestational age (he was a preemie). He also said that he is very intelligent because of the number of different vocalizations and the amount of “talking” he does. (BTW, he can say ma ma, nana, and da da).
Ok so back to the being sick part. CW asked him why he’s congested all the time and has trouble breathing. So it turns out, he doesn’t have a respiratory infection or an ear infection like the other doctor has been saying, but he as asthma. A 6 month old with asthma!! Dr. B gave him an albuterol shot and some oral albuterol to take. He had two doses yesterday and he was starting to sound better. He even slept thorough the night again! This morning he sounded 100 times better, so it must be working. Thank god someone finally listened when I said there was something wrong with him. Our hospital is so messed up, the doctor won’t come into the ER unless he’s got a fever over 100 degrees. How bad is that! Of course, my doctor would come in even if he didn’t have a fever because he’s a good doc.
