Setting realistic and achievable goals is a great thing. You want to set small goals that you know you can achieve on your way to the bigger ones. Each small goal should be one step toward the bigger one. I read a great article this morning about setting goals over at Million Dollar Leverage. It’s more business related, but I don’t see why they can’t work for weight loss too!
For more detailed info check out Dave’s Site, but here are the five basic steps:
- Get a grip on your current obligations
- Write down your goals
- Prioritize your obligations
- Optimize your goals
- Keep repeating the above steps
Sound pretty easy right? If taking control of our lives is so easy, why do so many of us have problems doing so? We make excuses and whine about why we can’t do it instead of just doing it. Now is the time to stop feeling sorry for ourselves and be like Nike! Just Do It!
Write down your goals, print them out (make lots of copies!) and paste them up everywhere! On the fridge, on the mirror in the bathroom, on the closet door, wherever you will see them. This constant reminder will help motivate you to achieve them!
