We all know that water is an important part of a healthy lifestyle, but Brita is taking that one step further. They are making it part of a healthy planet. They are encouraging everyone to use refillable water bottles and Brita pitchers to help reduce the amount of plastic that is going into land fills. They are offering a reusable bottle with their pitchers for a limited time.
That’s why Brita and Nalgene have teamed up to create the FilterForGood pledge. It’s a simple commitment to reduce your personal waste by giving up bottled water, even if it’s just a few days each week. Together, filtered water and a reusable bottle are an ideal solution for going green at home and on the go. It’s an easy change that can make a big difference.
Take the pledge and help save 1.5 million barrels of oil and help keep 50 billion plastic water bottles out of landfills. When you sign up you will get a $5 OFF coupon for the pitcher/reusable bottle combination or $1 OFF a new Brita pitcher filter.

It’s great to give up bottled water and opt for filtered tap water. But have you ever wondered what happens to all those used plastic Brita filter cartridges?
In Europe, there is a take-back recycling program. Brita collects used filters and recycles them in its own facility. But in the U.S., Brita is owned by Clorox and has not developed such a system.
Please join us in asking Clorox to take back its used filters. You can sign the petition and learn more about the campaign here:

@Beth,
You know I didn’t even think about that! They are still adding plastic to land fills with the filters, hopefully less than there would be if everyone was drinking out of plastic water bottles.
